This Privacy Policy describes how Jakub Wagner ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Comenia Script applications (including Meadow Letters and related apps).

We (Jakub Wagner) do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data that could identify you or your child.

The editions sold in the App Store and Google Play send us nothing at all. The statistics below apply only to the school edition, the Windows version licensed to schools.
To decide which parts of the app are worth improving, the school edition sends us anonymous usage events, such as "an activity was opened" or "the language was switched". Each event carries only:
There is no identifier of any kind: no account, no device ID, no advertising ID, no licence number, and no fingerprint of the machine. The events cannot be linked to each other, to a person, or to a device. Our server stores them in plain log files and does not record the IP address of the sender. We use no third-party analytics service; the data goes only to our own server and is never sold or shared.
The school edition, sold to schools with a licence number, additionally reports to our server when it starts, which licence number was entered, and a technical fingerprint of the computer (a one-way hash derived from the machine's network adapter and user folder). We need this to check that a licence is not used on more computers than it was bought for, and to block revoked licence numbers. The record includes the IP address of the school's connection. This does not apply to the editions sold in the App Store and Google Play.
Our applications are built on the AIR runtime (developed by Harman International). The AIR runtime may automatically collect limited anonymous technical data (such as crash reports or performance diagnostics) and send it to Harman. We do not control this data collection and are not the recipients of this data. Please refer to Harman's Privacy Policy for details.
Additionally, Google Play may collect anonymous crash reports and app performance data as part of the Android platform. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.
We do not integrate any advertising SDKs and no data is used for advertising purposes.
Our applications are educational tools designed for use in schools and at home, intended for children, parents, and teachers. We take children's privacy seriously.
We do not collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We ourselves collect no personal data whatsoever. Any anonymous technical data that may be collected by the underlying Adobe AIR runtime or Google Play platform is outside our control and is not directed at children specifically. Our applications are compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable EU regulations regarding children's data.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately at support@j4w.cz and we will take steps to delete such information.
The anonymous usage statistics described in section 2.1 contain no personal data, so no legal basis under Article 6 of the GDPR is required for them.
For the school edition (section 2.2), the licence check is processed on the basis of the legitimate interest in protecting our licensed software and on the performance of the licence contract with the school (Article 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data concerns the school's computer, not the pupils.
Any anonymous technical data processed by Harman or Google is governed by their respective privacy policies and legal bases.
We do not retain any personal data from the store editions. The anonymous usage statistics are kept in monthly log files for as long as they are useful for development. School licence records (section 2.2) are kept for the duration of the licence and for the period required by accounting rules. Any anonymous technical data collected by the AIR runtime or Google Play is retained according to their respective policies.
Although we do not collect personal data, we are committed to ensuring the security of any interactions with our services. Our website uses HTTPS encryption for all communications.
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
